EuuuhFrench AI v1.0 Development Update

A short update on the first MVP version of EuuuhFrench AI, an AI-assisted French pronunciation tool for Chinese-speaking learners of French.

EuuuhFrench AI is conceived, designed, and developed by Sifaks Ousmail. The project is part of SIFAKS Software and connects applied linguistics, second language acquisition, language education, and French as a foreign language.

Version 1.0 is now live at app.sifaks.com as a focused MVP. Learners can listen to native French audio, record their own pronunciation, replay their attempt, receive AI-assisted feedback, read correction guidance, and try again. The interface is available in English, French, and Simplified Chinese, with desktop and mobile layouts checked.

What changed in v1.0?

The main focus was on making the practice flow more clearly and easily to follow. Learners now move through a simple sequence for each practice item: listen, record, receive feedback, retry or skip, then continue to the next item.

Version 1.0 also includes local mouth-shape video guidance for five French sounds: /y/, /ΓΈ/, /Ε“/, /ʁ/, and /Ι›Μƒ/. These sounds are especially relevant for Chinese-speaking learners of French because they involve lip rounding, vowel placement, nasal resonance, and uvular articulation. Video guidance is only available in Chinese for now.

The app now combines native French audio examples, learner recording replay, mouth-shape guidance, correction prompts, and API-backed pronunciation assessment. Feedback wording has also been refined so that unclear recordings receive useful guidance rather than misleading scores.

Version 1.0 also includes a basic lesson chooser, completion flow, progress page, and feedback page. If real pronunciation scoring is not available, the app can use a preview mode, so the learning flow remains usable while clearly avoiding false assessment claims.

The assessment layer has been improved in terms of target detection and feedback reliability. This remains AI-assisted pronunciation feedback, not a claim of a proprietary AI model, and not a replacement for teaching.

Prototype status

EuuuhFrench AI v1.0 is the first working MVP. It is still an early version, but the core learning flow is now usable: native audio, recording, replay, pronunciation feedback, retry support, and video guidance for difficult sounds.

Because this is the first public MVP release, basic Privacy Policy and Terms of Use pages have also been added. They explain how pronunciation audio may be processed by third-party APIs for feedback, and clarify that EuuuhFrench AI is an experimental learning tool.

As of now, this project serves as a bridge between applied linguistics research and practical language education design: a focused pronunciation software for Chinese-speaking learners of French. Built around concrete French pronunciation learning problems.
